Love you always man #endgunviolence.” Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne was out on a walk in the St. Michael area of Barbados on Tuesday evening when he approached by a man and was shot several times according to Nation News reports Alleyne, 21, was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he later died from gunshot wounds, Barbados Today reports. Authorities are now looking for witnesses who may have seen that shooter.Barbados has recently seen a huge rise in gun-related crime over the last year with Twenty-two of the 28 murders recorded in 2017 involved the use of guns. “Three hundred and eighteen crimes were committed with the use of firearms as compared with 202 for the same period in the year 2016,” Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Colvin Bishop informed reporters.The FBI has issued 4,170 orders to seize guns from US citizens who owned firearms deemed to be ‘unauthorized’ by the US government.Police also reported there was a 28% increase in the number of illegal firearms seized this year, a direct result of increased anti-gun operations and patrols.
